I love fashion. But functional clothes are equally important to me. Knickers are highly functional by their nature. I mean, that lower pant leg can be so inconvenient sometimes. (Think of the complications presented by knee-high boots, or trying to ride a bike without a chain guard.) These knickers in particular take functionality one stroke farther with a few design details made specifically for bicycling: Extra deep front pockets to prevent loss of valuables; a fully lined interior for extra warmth and comfort; and finally, cuffs with a button closure and vent that allows more room for the knee. They don’t look bad with my matching jacket either. I had fun making these and anticipate constructing a few more in different fabrics, including a pair for spring/summer, sans lining.
Stick around as the first garment for my Spring 2012 mini-collection, the coat, begins to take shape.

Tonya, I love the knickers they look so fun and stylish. And they look great on you too. Do do such beautiful work.
Thank you, Sarah! Much love. T
They are so great, T! I am loving your blog. I also love that your dog is in the pics! (Is his/her name “Popcorn”?)
Thank you, Holly! Yep, that’s Popcorn. He insists on being in the fashion shoots.
Wow! Bellissimo!!
Very nice! Glad that you modeled the knickers with the matching jacket…..great looking outfit. The fit appears to be perfect so apparently all of the trial runs on your first pair of pants paid off
Yes the fit IS great! I think I finally got it. Thanks, Mom.
Holy hell. Brilliant….absolutely brilliant. I love the whole outfit!
Thank you, Bryan. It will be fun to wear on my bicicleta. Love, T
